Active his entire life, Pat has played baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, golf, tennis, and competed in fencing. In college, he raced for Miami University’s (Ohio) cycling team and continued to race as an amateur in regional and national road and track events until 2006.

After acting as eBusiness manager for Anthem, he switched careers to be a full-time coach and has been a wellness professional and trainer for nearly two decades. Pat earned his Masters degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Psychology. During his studies, he wrote a mental skills manual for cyclists and a research study on the effects of music on sport performance.

Pat has worked with professional, collegiate, and high school athletes and teams as well as fitness focused individuals from all walks of life. He brings a balanced mix of methodologies including functional, balance, resistance, and strength training, Olympic weightlifting, speed and agility work and utilizes kettlebells, steel maces, Indian clubs, and hammers to focus on hip and shoulder strength and mobility. Additionally, Pat utilizes fitness technology – activity trackers and metabolic rate profiles – to ensure proper intensity levels, nutrition, and recovery are met for best results.

Pat’s workouts have been featured in Bicycling Magazine and he has written articles for the IDEA Health and Fitness Journal. He is a subject matter expert as well as lecturer for IDEA, American Council on Exercise, and several companies and organizations throughout Southern California.

Pat is an adjunct professor at Miramar College and was head coach of the UC San Diego Cycling Team between 2010 and 2022, leading the Tritons to four national titles. In his spare time, he currently volunteers with San Diego Special Hockey and the San Diego Junior Gulls hockey programs.

Pat’s goal is to inspire health conscious individuals and competitive professional athletes to be mindful of physical and nutritional choices and how they affect one’s ability to achieve optimal performance and desired lifelong health and wellness goals.
