Peggy Russell and Dennis Seymour are the Fitness Quest 10 Clients of the Month for December. They were nominated and selected by the FQ10 staff as a result of their hard work and dedication to both the bettering of themselves and FQ10.

What brought you into Fitness Quest 10?
I sustained some significant knee injuries about eight years ago and I had tried other fitness programs, physical therapy and yoga without success. In fact, I kept re-injuring my knees, and sometimes sustained additional injuries. I was discouraged, and losing hope that I would ever recover.
About five years ago Dennis met Ryan (Coach) Burgess, a former trainer at Fitness Quest, when they participated in John Berardi’s (Precision Nutrition’s) on-line nutrition and fitness class. Ryan added Dennis on the FQ10 email list and, years later, he learned about the 2-week bootcamp class led by Jesse Dietrick and Jeff Bristol. Dennis kept urging me (who was reluctant) to try it out.
When I came to Jesse’s first Fitness Quest boot-camp, it was mainly to humor my husband Dennis. I was not confident I would be able to keep up. Well, surprise, surprise, not only was I able to keep up, but I LOVED the environment, beginning with Jeff Bristol’s discreet and thorough assessment, and have been attending small group trainings three times a week ever since!
I have seen improvement in my strength, range of motion, stamina, and attitude! I still have a long way to go, but things are moving steadily in the right direction. The Fitness Quest trainers are so knowledgeable! They watch their clients with hawk-like focus, and immediately stop us if our form is off, or if an exercise is potentially risky for our individual “issues.” How they are able to track each client’s various maladies, keep the pace and challenge of the classes steady, and keep count of everyone’s reps all at the same time is mystifying.
Dennis has a serious health issue that required hospitalization last October and was not able to join until last spring. For Dennis, fitness is medicine. His physicians demand daily exercise, no excuses. Dennis is a lazy cuss and does not have the self-discipline to exercise on his own. Under Jesse’s and Laurence’s watchful eyes and commanding motivation, Dennis is now the most fit he has ever been. His doctors, who instill more fear in him than any FQ10 trainer ever could, are thrilled.
What do you enjoy most about Fitness Quest 10?
I most enjoy the camaraderie of your good-humored, hard-working, dedicated and professional staff, without a doubt! I have met so many articulate, positive, hard-working and inspiring individuals. I wish I could come every day and work with each one. I have learned valuable lessons from Laurence, Jesse, Jeff Bristol, Charleston (….stop laughing at my pitiful foam-rolling, and yes I do a little every day, so THANK YOU!!), KT, Christina, Britney, Jeff King, Julie, Rachael, Stacey, Bradley, intern Sophie, Janet, Heather-brunette, Heather-Pilates, and of course Todd! The lessons are not just exercise-related, either. I have learned much from interacting with other clients, too.
Fitness Quest 10 employees set such good examples and are so good-natured and well-educated, that working out has become the most fun (and challenging in a positive way) time of my day. It’s like playing at recess instead of being in class at school. Plus, they keep me motivated to work hard, just by their fine examples.
What are some health and fitness goals you have achieved since being here?
I have remained injury free for fifteen months and my knees are steadily improving!!! My attitude and motivation are much more positive!
What is a quote that you live by?
“Never, never, never give up!” ~~ Winston Churchill (Dennis always thought that his beloved’s quote was “Never, never, never give in!”
